How Can I Help?
For our previous Empty Bowls events, we had many people who contacted us ahead of time wanting to know if there was some way that they could get involved and help make a difference. Some helped by working with us on the night of the event. Some helped by spreading the word of the upcoming event to friends, coworkers and relatives by printing flyers or sharing with friends on social media. Some, who could not attend the event, made a donation ahead of time. If any of those options sound like something that you would like to do, please get in touch with us via the Contact page.
In addition, there were many people who weren't potters themselves but wanted to help make bowls as well. Fortunately, we have people in our community ready to provide just such an opportunity to those of you who would like to make bowls to contribute to Empty Bowls. These options cover three groups of people, who are described below. If you, or someone you know is also able to provide classes or resources for those wishing to make bowls for Empty Bowls, please contact us via our Contact page, and we will be sure to add them to the the list!

If you are...
A College, Junior High, or High School Student
Talk to the art teacher or ceramics professor at your school. WKU has a wonderful ceramics program, and many of the area schools have ceramics for their art students as well. Even if you can't sign up for an art class right now, talk to your art teacher to see what other options are available.
Someone Who Wants To Make a Bowl from Scratch
We are fortunate to have potters working in the area who are teaching others, as well as making beautiful objects themselves. If you are interested in taking a class to learn how to make a bowl from clay, then you should talk to one of these potters.
