Entries Begin for Barnum Award
As a special thank you to the area high school students who are donating their time and efforts to making bowls for Empty Bowls, we are setting up an exhibition/contest in which we will be displaying the student bowls online and we will ask the public to vote for their favorite bowl. The bowl which is chosen by the public as their favorite will receive the Barnum Award, in recognition of their fine work. In addition, the creator of the winning bowl will receive a gift certificate to Hobby Lobby, which he or she may use to further their creative endeavors. Already this year we have received over 30 entries, but there is still plenty of time remaining for those who wish to contribute a bowl and enter it in the competition. While bowls for the event itself may be donated up to the 25th of February, high school students wishing to enter their bowl in the competition need to do so by February 9, which is when the entries will be posted online for voting to begin. The winning
bowl will be announced on February 26 at the Empty Bowls dinner.
